2008 Pacific Rim Collegiate Cyber Defense – Part 1
The first Pacific Rim Regional Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition—or “Geeks Under Attack!”—tested students’ understanding of how to manage the challenges inherent in protecting an enterprise network infrastructure and business information systems. With cybercrime on the rise, including data and identity theft, the serious need for trained and experienced cybersecurity professionals is growing. The competition hopes to recruit more cybersecurity professionals into the field and provides a venue for students from across the Pacific Rim and Northwestern United States to hone their cyber defense skills.
