If it was the other way around and a Hamas leader assassinated an Israeli, it would have been front page news for the next month and there’d be calls for more invasions of middle eastern countries, and more fake bin laden tapes would be surfacing claiming that non existant Al Quada did it

Perhaps you are right. I hope not, but I guess the US’s record of apathy for anything or anyone not directly concerned with itself can’t be ignored. Obama may still break the mold, who knows?
There must be some hope surely……How can we live in comfort in lucky countries like Aus and Canada without feeling the guilt?
How about this for pessimism then then?:
There will be equality when China takes over in a few years: NOONE will have any rights….

The main reason for my optimism in this, is that Mr Obama has stated that there WILL be a 2 state solution during the term of his Presidency.. He has taken a hard line on West Bank settlements, and despite the fact that the howls of protest and accusations of anti-semitism could be heard by a man standing on the surface of the moon, he has stood by his guns and will, I believe, remain steadfast in this commitment.
Also, Iran would NEVER nuke a Palestinian/Muslim Jerusalem or anything near it.
