    one of the things …
one of the things that improves fps at night for me (8400gs till nxt month) is to create a shorcut to launchgtaiv.exe and then right click on the shortcut and select properties and in the field target, after the quotation marks enter this -novblank but leave a space between the quotes and the -novblank. so it should look like this “C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Gta IV\LaunchGtaIV.exe” -novblank

que porcentaje de overclock tiene la placa de video?? osea en cuento tienes los clocks…??
tengo la misma pc y quiero saber si funciona con la tarjeta con clocks en 685/1450/460

    Mine looks pretty …
Mine looks pretty much the same – I’m running a intel e8500 (i think it’s 3.16) with a 1gb 9800gtx+ and 3 gigs ddr2 ram nothing overclocked – it’s a bit less laggy, and the quality is slightly better (might just be the video recorder), but yeah, very similar i’d think! Good stuff – love that game!

what kind of fans you use in your system? i have the same set up now and this heats up hard. im trying to figure out what i should use to bring down the heat.

    well still, 64kib …
well still, 64kib l1 cache per core is huge deal compare to netburst 8kib l1 cache

  8. madjimms says:

    That’s not the only …
That’s not the only thing they changed, they totally changed the micro-architecture to be more efficient.

  9. hanrinch says:

it is matter of l1 …
it is matter of l1 cache size and instruction alternative compare to netburst’s poor 8kb slow l1 cache and trace cache that wasn’t even meant to be a cache.

  10. hanrinch says:

    it’s more likely a …
it’s more likely a dual “cpu” processor with saperate “prescott” die inside the package and run indepandently. so smithfield is more like a mini server board with processor packaging that’s all.

  11. hanrinch says:

    i currently have …
i currently have 4gb ddr2 800 dual channel +9800gt. but i had test it with pny 1gb ddr2 667 on that rig and it is still runs fine at maximum setting while the task manager shown only 450mb for gta 4 process. so i guess it’s the processor and gpu that’s matter. rams are least concern unless you have sdram or rambus those slow type of ram.

  15. madjimms says:

    Actually they are …
Actually they are very different in design, Pentium D uses NetBurst (90/65nm) architecture while Pentium Dual-Core uses the Wolfdale architecture (45nm) this design actually increases the bandwidth capabilities of the CPU & reduces the overhead.

  16. mrlegitshit says:

    The only reason …
The only reason it’s actually on your PC is because you have 4GB’s of ram, where as if you only had 1GB everything would be dependent on the CPU, but that 4GB is giving the CPU a lift..I did’nt actually Pentium D could run GTA 4, which is totally hungry for CPU speed.

  17. stixbunny says:

    probably not. GTAIV …
probably not. GTAIV is very cpu dependant and requires a dual core computer to be at least decent. That and your card ain’t very good.

how did you get this on a pentium d? When i tried to install it on my dads computer it said i need to have a dual core in order to play so it wouldn’t let me start the game.
