no. it’s not. if you send photos, you didn’t steal anyone’s identity. you didn’t get their social security number and set up credit accounts in their name. that guy’s a dumbass.

I think the only punishment for online dating picture fakery is to not ever hear from the person again that you sent them to. LOL

    Crime: Photographic Dishonesty

Punishment: "I’m not interested in you."

no you can’t get in trouble for identity theft or sexual predatorism. he’s just upset because he doesn’t know what you actually look like he’s probably some type of predator himself.

He is hurt right now. He feels played and perhaps he truly liked you (for you).. Give him time and it will all blow over. By the way, you can’t get in trouble. Do you know how many ppl do that a DAY? thousands if not millions. If you used someones pic that you know and gave their name then YES that is identity theft.. If you picked them random then no.

first of alll when you fake someone pictures don’t confess … just stop talking to that person … so that this won’t happen again
and hey just use your own pictures alright.. it will save you alot of trouble
    yeah
    he can deff. do that
and you can get charged with it
    are you under aged though
if you are.. the police will just give you a warning
if your over 18 . well then he can take you to court if he wanted to
but chances are the guy is probably just mad at you and so he is trying to scare you
so yeah dont stress about it :)

  18. I wanna ask says:

    identity theft, yes, maybe.
    sexual predatorism, no.

dont worry. he is just bored. he wont call the police and I think the police wont do much, cause they dont have time tracking you down AND they have nothing to charge you with. there’s no evidence of sexual predatorism anyway, except if you were talking dirty.

    edit:
btw the police would have to contact the instant messaging service, AIM or whatever its called, and ask them for your IP address of your computer, and gather some more evidence, so you are far away from being charged for sexual predatorism. and I have never heard of a term sexual predatorism, the police uses different names for these things. but you would have to talk about sexuality and you would need to ask him to come over your house and stuff like that. thats would be sexual predatorism, but if he was telling you to come over HIS house, then he is a possible sexual predator. that guy can get himself in trouble without realizing what he wants to report. if you were talking about meeting in a public place, thats nothing, no crime committed.

and for identity theft you would need to do a lot more things than just sending someones picture on the internet. you would need to use the persons name, last name, home address, phone number and do some things like if you would pay for a luxury hotel and use another persons info, credit card number. when you would visit the hotel and claim you are that person, than this is an identity theft. saying that you are someone else is far from identity theft. there are many trolls on yahoo answers claiming that they are celebrities and they use their pictures too, so would they be charged with identity theft?

I don’t know about the identity theft part, because there was no personal data posted, ( social security #) , but why would you send a fake picture? Be yourself. Use your own picture, and don’t post personal info that could get you stalked, and you should be fine.
