What are the minimum and maximum punishments for identity theft?

Depends on how much money was taken or used. What it all encompassed, etc.

But it mainly depends on your state laws. Each state has different statutes regarding this issue.

I think the punishment should match the crime. Identity theft should merit one hand cut off minimum or 150 years maximum or death. Oh, sorry I don’t mean cut off the hand, I meant head. By the way, I’m just joking. Give him/her free room and board in a jail @ one year for each $1000 swiped.
