Identification protection services

Identity theft or fraud happens every three seconds, whether it’s online, an ATM skimmer device, or compromised office records.

BUT there are ways you can protect yourself.

By the time you are aware the identity crime has been committed, the damage is done. So, you may want to consider an identity theft protection service.

You can compare some of the popular ones online like, LifeLock, Identity Guard and ID Watchdog.

LifeLock uses an extensive network to search for identity theft before it happens. While it’s still in the early application phase, the $10-a-month fee covers this service and basically acts as an insurance policy.

If you become a victim, Lifelock will guarantee you up to a $1 million, which is good to know, because some reports indicate the company records of LifeLock itself were compromised.

Using a service doesn’t guarantee your ID will stay 100-percent safe, but if it is compromised, you don’t have to worry about all the headache and legwork of getting you back to normal.
