How to Prevent Online Identity Theft: An Early Look

The Council for the Better Business Bureaus found that 47% of all identity theft related crimes are performed through associations with friends, neighbors, relatives, or someone known to the victim. Consumer also detect almost half of all fraud causes – again 47%. Let’s make that number less by going over identity theft which can take place over the Internet. This includes fraudulent phone calls, e-mail schemes, scareware and malware attacks, phishing scams, and more. The perpetrator of the fraud usually uses the information they receive immediately, but sometimes they aggregate that data or use it to take control over even more functions of your life. This can include installing rootkits, viruses, worms, trojans, malware, adware, unwanted applications, keyloggers, and other software on your computer without your knowledge. This guide hopes to show how to prevent, detect, and resolve identity theft in many of its forms. We should understand and prevent cybercrime. Please allow me to demonstrate how to do so.
